This component is a prototype housing for miniature fluid pumps, featuring a stepped concentric central bore for shaft assembly, a surrounding flange with evenly distributed mounting holes, and a side protruding sleeve for fluid inlet connection. Traditional sand casting requires pattern molds with long lead times, while full CNC machining would need complex multi-axis fixturing and lengthy processing cycles for the curved stepped contours.

We adopt plastic 3D printing for one-piece integrated forming, optimizing print layer speed and support placement to prevent deformation of thin flange edges and tall pipe sleeves during curing. High-rigidity engineering plastic delivers stable dimensional performance for pressure seal testing. Post-processing removes layer lines and sharp burrs; critical bore holes can be precision trimmed to match shaft fitting clearances. Each design revision only needs updated CAD files for reprinting, enabling fast iteration of internal flow channel and sealing structure designs without extra tooling costs.

Q1: Can 3D printed plastic housings hold liquid pressure without leakage?
Standard PLA suits low-pressure testing; we use ABS or resin with sealing coating for better liquid tightness. For high-pressure formal production, aluminum alloy casting/metal 3D printing is recommended.

Q2: Are mounting holes accurate enough for bolt assembly?
Base printed holes carry minor allowance; we perform manual trimming or secondary CNC reaming to achieve precise fit for standard fasteners.

Q3: How many design revisions can we test with 3D printing?
Unlimited iterations with no mold fees; each modified model can be produced and delivered within 2–3 days for comparison performance tests.

Q4: Can we switch to metal pump housings after plastic prototype validation?
Yes, we offer aluminum alloy metal 3D printing, CNC machining and casting services for formal production pump shells post prototype approval.

Q5: Will curved stepped bosses warp during printing?
We add internal support structures and adjust print temperature parameters for tall stepped features to control warpage; final full dimensional inspection guarantees concentricity of central bores.

Q6: Is FDM or SLA better for pump casing prototypes?
SLA provides smoother inner bore surfaces for superior sealing performance; FDM offers higher structural toughness for drop and load testing scenarios.
